Waiver Wire Pickups

Let’s get to the players you should consider picking up if they are available in your league: Duncan Robinson recently went OFF for 34 PTS, 10 3PM, 3 REB, 4 AT, and 1 BLK against the Hawks last Tuesday. He is still unowned in 60% of Yahoo Leagues. Fix that. Dillon Brooks seems to be a regular on this list, and that needs to change. He starts and receives minutes in the upper-20s to mid-30s for a wasteland team. Paul Millsap went down last Thursday with a quad injury, and even though the severity of the injury is unknown, Jerami Grant would receive a HUGE BOOST if Millsap were to miss any time. Joe Ingles must have read my Silent Knight article, where I highlighted Ingles as one of the players I expect to turn it around soon. Over his last 6 games, Ingles has averaged 30+ MIN for 11 PTS, 2.2 3PM, 4 REB, 6.7 AST, and 1.7 STL. Pick him up while he’s hot. Kendrick Nunn has slowed down a bit after his hot start BUT recently he’s picked it back up and is back to his scoring ways while providing solid 3PMs, REB, and Assists. Jaxson Hayes is currently getting minutes in the low to mid-20s. Even though Favors returned last Friday, Hayes should continue to produce solid PTS, REB, and elite Blocks. Matisse Thybulle picked up the slack while Josh Richardson was sidelined, and I’m choosing to have faith that Brett Brown saw enough during that time to give him regular minutes in the 20s. He can rack up Steals and Blocks in a hurry, so feel free to grab him as a speculative add. You know exactly what you’re getting with Cody Zeller – Solid FG%, Points, Rebounds, with mediocre hustle stats. Consistency is key and Zeller provides low-end consistency on a night-to-night basis. Josh Okogie is starting and receiving minutes in the upper 20s and low-30s. He is worth adding and starting as long as he’s getting high minutes and producing 3PMs, Rebounds, and low-end hustle stats. Like Brooks, Jae Crowder shows up on my waiver wire list regularly. He’s starting and contributes across the board, As long as the Grizzlies are giving him big minutes, Crowder will continue to be a linchpin at the end of your bench.

Top 100

If all of the above players are taken in your league, I’d consider adding the following players and riding the wave while they’re producing Top 100 value during Week 8 (all owned in under 50% of Yahoo Leagues)

  1. Nerlens Noel
  2. Denzel Valentine
  3. Ivica Zubac
  4. Mike Scott
  5. Kris Dunn
  6. Ersan Ilyasova
  7. Alex Len
  8. George Hill
  9. Tim Hardaway Jr.
  10. Cedi Osman
