Waiver Wire Pickups

Let’s get to the players you should consider picking up if they are available in your league: Aron Baynes is set to return to action this Friday from a hip flexor injury, which means he needs to be picked back up in ALL leagues and scoring formats until DeAndre Ayton returns. The Hornets seem to be showcasing Bismack Biyombo lately, and if you’re in the need for blocks and low-end points and rebounds, give him a look. Despite my pessimism when the Trailblazers signed Carmelo Anthony, he has been consistently producing and hovering around 30 MPG. It’s hard to ignore him so PICK HIM UP and keep riding the Melo wave. Mo Bamba hasn’t been load managed since Vucevic went down SO if you need a high-upside player that offers consistent blocks with low-end points and rebounds, ADD HIM. Even though Danuel House Jr. is dealing with a shoulder issue, it’s time he becomes UNIVERSALLY owned. In the 14 games he’s played so far this season, House Jr. is averaging 12.4 PTS, 2.6 3PM, 4.6 REB, 1.1 AST, 1.3 STL, and 0.7 BLK. He is available in 53% of Yahoo leagues and that needs to be changed ASAP. Have you seen the minutes Glenn Robinson III has been playing over the past 11 games? He is hovering around 32 MPG during that span, and he needs to be taken more seriously since he’s available in 65% of Yahoo leagues. PJ Washington may have a few tumbles here and there BUT he is the unequivocal starter for the Hornets. He helps you A LOT MORE than he hurts you. Josh Hart made his long-awaited return from injury and stepped in right away and played 25 minutes. Before going down, he was a mid-round value player, and if you need his consistent low-end production across-the-board, give him a look. Justise Winslow returned in STYLE last week and played 34 minutes for an up and coming Miami Heat team. Give him a look if he’s available in your league. Until we hear a clear timetable for Josh Richardson’s return, Matisse Thybulle should be scooped up in ALL leagues given his steals and blocks ability. It’s true, he hasn’t been playing much over the past month, but last game when Richardson went down, he winded up playing 21 minutes and produced 4 STL and 2 BLK. Yes, please!

If all of the above players are taken in your league, I’d consider adding the following players and riding the wave while they’re producing top-100 value during Week 6.

  1. Dario Saric
  2. Ish Smith
  3. Alec Burks
  4. Bruce Brown Jr.
  5. Cedi Osman
  6. Garrett Temple
  7. Jordan McRae
  8. Glenn Robinson III
  9. Ky Bowman
  10. Kelly Olynyk
