We made it to Week 7!
How’s your fantasy team doing? Whether you’re 6-0, 0-6, or somewhere in between; Don’t coast or give up. Stay active on your waiver wire and trade market. Most importantly, don’t sleep on these rankings. Let’s get you a win this week.
Before we dive into the rankings, check your waiver wire to see if Rashod Bateman and Rashaad Penny are available. Why?
Make that two weeks in a row endorsing Bateman as a waiver wire target. In his NFL debut, the rookie caught 4-of-6 targets for 29 yards, which aren’t super impressive stats, but receiving six targets in his first game is promising. The Baltimore Ravens didn’t have to throw a ton in last week’s positive game script against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 21-year-old has an excellent shot at carving out a significant role in the passing game behind Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews rest of the season. This week, Bateman has a fantastic matchup in Week 7 against the Bengals, which he should be more involved with Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense putting up points so far this season. With so many teams on bye, you could do a lot worse than Bateman in deep leagues or as your WR3 in PPR leagues.
Next, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carrol said Rashaad Penny (calf) is returning from IR and will be “back to full speed” this week. With Chris Carson (neck) on IR and Alex Collins (hip) also dealing with an injury, Penny has a shot at 10-plus touches upon his return Monday night against the New Orleans Saints. The former first-round pick is a stash candidate who could have a clear path to fantasy production right away.
OK, now that my Bateman and Penny spiel is over, let’s look at a few notable injured fantasy players we need to monitor heading into Week 7: Saquon Barkley, Antonio Gibson, Alex Collins, Latavius Murray, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., Kenny Golladay, DeVante Parker, T.Y. Hilton, Rob Gronkowski, Dallas Goedert, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Teddy Bridgewater.
