We made it to Week 3! After a thrilling Week 2 victory, your fantasy team is 2-0 and ready to make it 3-0. For all my 0-2 peeps: DON’T PANIC. It’s still early. You have plenty of time to turn it around and it starts in Week 3. And of course, my 1-1 crew is doing juuust fine. Let’s make it 2-1, shall we?
Before we dive into the rankings, check your waiver wire to see if Kenneth Gainwell and Darnell Mooney are available. Another week means another reminder to pick up Gainwell and stash him on the end of your bench. For the second week in a row, he operated as Philly’s No. 2 back over Boston Scott. The 22-year-old garnered eight touches on nine opportunities, rushing for 14 yards and catching two passes for 18 yards. Those might not be eye-popping stats, but as we get further into the season, the more work the Eagles should give him. Invest now in the rookie before it’s too late.
Next, we have Darnell Mooney. The 23-year-old led Chicago in targets and receiving yards in Week 2 with Justin Fields under center. If Andy Dalton (knee) has to miss Week 3, Mooney has a shot at delivering WR3 numbers in Cleveland. Also, if Fields impresses and steals the job from Dalton, Mooney is a rest-of-season WR3 with upside. See if he was dropped and start him this week if you need a flex play.
Let’s look at a few notable injured fantasy players we need to monitor heading into Week 3: Amari Cooper, Dalvin Cook, Darrell Henderson Jr., Diontae Johnson, Tee Higgins, Antonio Brown, Elijah Mitchell, Antonio Gibson, Josh Jacobs, Gabriel Davis, Laviska Shenault Jr., Derek Carr, Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield, and Ben Roethlisberger.
