Fantasy Football: Week 13 Waiver Wire

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

Week 12 is almost behind us which means it’s time to take a sneak peak at week 13. With the fantasy regular season coming to an end, it’s more important than ever to stay on top of the top waiver targets. I gotcha covered here to help keep your team on the right course.

QB

Philip Rivers (Ind)

Rostered: 33% (yahoo), 13% (espn)

Coming off of a game where he had 295 yards and 2 TDs, Rivers is slated for a repeat performance against an even easier Houston Defense. Rivers also has a decent schedule for the next 3 games making him a great pick up.

Kirk Cousins (Min)

Rostered: 40% (yahoo), 21% (espn)

Mentioned once again in my article, Cousins is a must grab for QB streamers. The Minnesota QB has averaged over 300 passing yards per game in the last 3 contests and will face off against the 3rd easiest opponent for QBs. Jacksonville just gave up 260 yards and 2 TDs to Mayfield; I’d expect Cousins to have an even stronger outing.

Gardner Minshew II (Jax)

Rostered: 12% (yahoo), 10% (espn)

After an injury to his thumb, Minshew has been absent since week 7. However, the Jaguars QB is looking to make his return in week 13 against the Vikings in a game that should leave Jacksonville playing catch up. If any of you remember, Minshew was a rather valuable fantasy starter before his injury and will pick up where he left off in week 13.

RB

Devontae Booker (LV)

Rostered: 9% (yahoo), 5% (espn)

Booker is the clear handcuff to RB Josh Jacobs, who will be questionable to play in week 13. Booker has already shown he can produce when filling in for Jacobs including 1 game where he racked up over 80 yards and 2 TDs. With playing the Jets, Los Vegas will find themselves in an early lead and will eventually lean on their run game for a large chunk of the time.

Frank Gore (NYJ)

Rostered: 25% (yahoo), 19% (espn)

The timeless RB has been given a plethora of opportunities as of late, especially with Perine landing on the IR. If the Jets weren’t so terrible in every aspect of the game, Gore just as well could have been in the RB1 conversation sheerly based off the volume this guy gets. Unfortunately, in our reality, the Jets are going to get spanked by whomever they may play. Making it very hard for RBs to be productive. Gore will see plenty of carries against the Raiders, who have the 4th easiest rush defense to opposing RBs. Pick this guy up now and feel safe with him for the rest of the season.

Jordan Wilkins (Ind)

Rostered: 17% (yahoo), 30% (espn)

Wilkins failed to produce against an Atlanta defense that has been very effective against the run this season, but will go up against one of the 2nd easiest opponents a RB could ask for at Houston. With follow up games against Los Vegas, then Houston again, you are looking at arguably the easiest schedule for RBs period. Definitely at least worth a stash if not a low end flex play.

WR

Laviska Shenault Jr. (Jax)

Rostered: 18% (yahoo) 13% (espn)

I expect a very productive outing for the Jacksonville wide outs. The Vikings have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing receivers so far this season and the Jaguars should have their star QB back for the first time since week 7. Jacksonville’s Defense has been toward the bottom of the barrel this season, leaving the high powered Minnesota Offense drooling. With that being said, Jacksonville will be playing catch up giving Shenault plenty of opportunities.

Breshad Perriman (NYJ)

Rostered: 12% (yahoo) 14% (espn)

In his last 3 games Perriman has totalled an outstanding 11/234/2 stat line. His next 2 matchups being Los Vegas fallowed by Seattle make his future when brighter. We also all know the Jets are in a state of perpetually playing catch-up, therefore more passes more opportunities. Pick him this guy up and through him in your lineup.

Keelan Cole Sr. (Jax)

Rostered: 27% (yahoo), 18% (espn)

For all the same reasons I listed for both Shenault and Minshew. The match up is perfect, the timing of the return of the star QB, and so on. But wait… there’s more… WR DJ Chark Jr. is still dealing with an injury along with Chris Conley making Cole and Shenault the top targets for Minshew.

TE

Kyle Rudolph (Min)

Rostered: 15% (yahoo), 14% (espn)

Rudolph faces against a Jacksonville defense that has given up the 2nd most in fantasy points to opposing TEs. With Irv Smith likely to remain out, Rudolph will continue to see the uptick in targets he saw last week. With Thielan likely back, I’d expect the field to open up more for our TE, making him a solid pick up for week 13.

Trey Burton (Ind)

Rostered: 19% (yahoo), 6% (espn)

If you’re looking for a hot handed TE to stream, look no further. Burton has a TD in each of the past 2 games including 6 targets in his latest outing. The defense he faces this week at Houston isn’t a scary match up either. On top of all that, there is always the chance we could see a TD run or pass from this guy.

Other Notable Pickups

  • Baker Mayfield (QB – Cle)
  • Ito Smith (RB – Atl)
  • Sammy Watkins (WR – KC)
  • Henry Ruggs III (WR – LV)
  • Jimmy Graham (TE – Chi)
