We’re officially through the first 7 weeks of the season! How’s your team looking? Whether you’re up in the standings or down, treat each week like it’s your last. EVERY WEEK COUNTS. We’re here to help you navigate through your waiver wire and suggest our favorite streamers for Week 8.
In this article, I’m going to highlight 2 top streamers per position in deep and shallow leagues along with BONUS streamers to consider if the highlighted players are already taken in your league.
QB
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Jacoby Brissett (58% owned) vs Broncos
Brissett has been a Top-15 Fantasy QB on the year even when you include the Week 6 Bye. This week he faces a Broncos defense that ranks 25th in Fantasy. There’s a possibility that the Colts will run all day, but Brissett has a very high floor and he should get the job done despite the positive game script. When you look at the rest of the QBs owned in less than 60% of Yahoo leagues, Brissett is the best bet for a solid week.
Other QBs to consider streaming: Sam Darnold (27%) at Jax, Teddy Bridgewater (30%)
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
Ryan Tannehill (12% owned) vs Buccaneers
Tannehill was efficient and productive last week to the tune of 23/29 for 312 yards and 2 TDs. This week he goes up against the Buccaneers where he should have another efficient outing with the possibility of a shootout if Winston can be a competent QB and put up points against him.
Other QBs to consider streaming: Mason Rudolph (10%) vs Mia, Kyle Allen (8%) at SF
RB
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Ty Johnson (57% owned) vs Giants
Everything is lining up for Ty Johnson to have a solid game this week. Kerryon has been placed on IR giving him the keys to this offense, he faces the Giants run defense that just allowed Chase Edmonds to run all over them, and he’s at home. Combine all these factors, you have your self a solid RB2 with the possibility of RB1 numbers.
Other RBs to consider streaming: Mark Walton (20%) at Pit, Ronald Jones II (46%) at Ten
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
J.D. McKissic (14% owned) vs Giants
McKissic finds himself in a 3rd down AND change-of-pace role in this Lions offense. In a deep league, I would take a shot on him since we are not positive how the Lions will divvy up the backfield touches.
Other RBs to consider streaming: Benny Snell Jr. (8%) Mia, Dare Ogunbowale (1%)
WR
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Corey Davis (49% owned) vs Buccaneers
Look who’s back! Last week Davis had 6 catches for 80 yards and a TD. It’s amazing what a competent QB will do for skill position players. As long as Tannehill is starting, I expect Davis to put up consistent WR2/3 numbers for the rest of the season. This week he goes up against the 19th ranked fantasy defense in the Buccaneers, where he’ll look to keep the good times rolling with his new best friend, Ryan Tannehill.
Other WRs to consider streaming: Auden Tate (32%) at LAR, Cole Beasley (26%) vs Phi
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
DeVante Parker (17% owned) at Steelers
Parkers has found the end zone three weeks in a row. He may not get a ton of yards, but Fitzpatrick only has eyes for him when the Dolphins are in the Red Zone. He’s a fine WR3 option is deep leagues on the road in Pittsburgh.
Other WRs to consider streaming: Preston Williams (12%) at Pit, A.J. Brown (19%) vs Tam
TE
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Vance McDonald (53% owned) vs Dolphins
Everyone’s favorite sleeper at the beginning of the year, McDonald has a great matchup at home against the lowly Dolphins. Rudolph has had plenty of time to get acclimated with the talented TE, and if I need a TE this week, I’m willing to give McDonald a shot this week.
Other TEs to consider streaming: Chris Herndon (29%) at Jax, Dawson Knox (22%) vs Phi
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
Jack Doyle (17% owned) vs Broncos
When it comes to a low-floor, Doyle is as consistent as they come. He averages just over 4 targets a game, and he’s Brisset’s go-to guy when he needs to move the chains. Why not take a shot if you’re desperate at TE in a deep league?
Other TEs to consider streaming: Noah Fant (15%) vs Jax, Dallas Goedert (15%) at Buf
DEF
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Colts (29% owned) vs Broncos
Oh, boy. The Broncos were ATROCIOUS last week at home versus the Chiefs. With the departure of Emmanuel Sanders, the Broncos seem to have given up all hope on the year. I’d roll with the Colts defense at home against a struggling Joe Flacco.
Other DEFs to consider streaming: Titans (52%) vs Buccaneers, Texans (42%) vs Oak
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
Lions (12% owned) vs Giants
Did you watch Daniel Jones last week? He looked awful. Maybe he improves this week, but I still see him turning the ball over a few times in Detroit.
Other DEFs to consider streaming: Buccaneers (3%) at NYG, Jets (11%) at Jax
K
Shallow League Streamer (Owned in less than 60% of Yahoo Leagues)
Zane Gonzalez (47% owned) at Saints
Gonzalez remains a Top-3 kicker on the year and needs to be owned in ALL leagues as a rock-solid option. He is a GREAT fill-in option for Tucker and Maher owners who are on bye weeks.
Other Ks to consider streaming: Joey Slye (50%) at SF, Josh Lambo (48%) vs NYJ
Deep League Streamer (Owned in less than 20% of Yahoo Leagues)
Chris Boswell (8% owned) vs Dolphins
Any team facing the Dolphins is going to be in the Red Zone a DOZEN times, and whether they cash in with a TD or settle for field goals, Boswell should get points this week.
Other Ks to consider streaming: Stephen Hauscka (4%) vs Phi, Adam Vinatieri (19%) vs Den
