Waiver Wire Pickups

Let’s get to the players you should consider picking up if they are available in your league: Shaquille Harrison has been UNREAL over the past week. He is averaging 13 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.7 steals, and two blocks while shooting 50% from the field. Those gaudy stats have him currently ranked #4 in nine-category leagues. Even when Zach LaVine comes back, Harrison should still get plenty of run to close out the season. Shabazz Napier is FINALLY starting to produce as the starting point guard for the Washington Wizards. Over the past week, he’s providing Top 50 value averaging 19 points, 3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.7 steals while shooting 46% from the field. He’s averaging 39 minutes over the past two games and those minutes should stay in the mid-30s for the rest of the season. Frank Ntilikina received 30 minutes against the Wizards last Tuesday and produced 20 points, three 3-pointers, 10 assists, and two steals. He has vowed to be more aggressive, and there’s no reason to believe the New York Knicks won’t give him extra run to close out the season. P.J. Tucker has been dropped by a lot of fantasy owners lately. Take advantage. He may be boring, but Tucker consistently produces 3&D stats and plays anywhere between 25-40 minutes a night. Don’t look now, but the former Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams is providing Top 50 value over the past week. In just 25 minutes per game, he’s averaging 17.7 points, 1.3 3-pointers, 2.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 65% from the field. He has been one of the biggest beneficiaries ever since Evan Fournier went down with an injury. The Charlotte Hornets seem content on giving their young guys all the run they can handle to close out the season. This bodes well for both Cody Martin and Caleb Martin. Both are playing heavy minutes and offer low-end upside for the rest of the season. Cody is the better add out of the two. If you’re in desperate need of blocks, Nerlens Noel is your guy. I don’t trust him to stay consistent in other categories, but he’s been averaging 1.5 blocks per game over the past week and is worth an add if you need blocks. Royce O’Neale has been averaging over 30 minutes per game ever since entering the starting lineup for the Utah Jazz two weeks ago. In those two weeks, he is averaging 7.5 points, 1.8 3-pointers, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 0.8 blocks. Add him if you need low-end consistent production at the end of your bench. Tony Bradley can rack up blocks in a hurry when given minutes. With Rudy Gobert dealing with the coronavirus, there’s no guarantee he comes back and plays once the NBA resumes. He is worth a speculative add in 12-plus team leagues for his blocks and FG% along with low-end points and rebounds.
